The activities of CDIU are located in parts of Eastern Uganda, particularly Tororo, Busia, Mbale, Kumi, Soroti, Katakwi and Amuria but with the plans to cover Eastern, Northern regions of Uganda and eventually the whole country.
In order to achieve its objectives CDIU conducts the following activities in urban and peri-urban Communities of the above mentioned districts, Heritage and Cultural conservation, ,Sexual and Reproductive Health, Education, Urban planning, Child protection, Climate change, Disaster risk reduction, Environmental management, Maternal child health, Advocacy for Road safety initiatives, human rights and welfare of vulnerable urban and peri-urban poor, Advocacy for good governance, Research and consultancy, Water & sanitation in communities and schools ,public policy ,livelihood support and capacity building, vocational skills development, among others
